Playground Element for Public Areas
The competition is open to Montgomery and the surrounding area high school students.
Students are asked to design a playground element (Swings Slides, Climbers, Spinners, etc.)
for urban commercial landscapes, parks, and recreational areas.
The design needs to be original and unique.
1. Registration is open from January 29, 2024 to February 9, 2023:
To register for the competition, the student's teacher needs to email the following information to [email protected]
2. The design submission will be accepted from February 19, 2024 through March 15, 2024:
The teacher needs to collect work from students and email each student's submission in a ZIP file (less than 20MB) to [email protected]. Email's subject is Playground Element.
3. Winners' Announcement during the week of April 1, 2024 through April 5, 2024.
Requirements:
Each student presents an individual playground element project that must include 3D and 2D views of their design. The design could be done manually (pencil and paper) or with CAD software.
After the submission, PH&J Architects and CAD designers will discuss the design and announce winners on PH&J Architects website.
Prizes:
1st place = $50 Gift Card
2nd Place = $30 Gift Card
3rd Place = $20 Gift Card

- the name and location of the school,
- the name of the supporting teacher
- the list of participating students

Requirements:
Each student presents an individual playground element project that must include 3D and 2D views of their design. The design could be done manually (pencil and paper) or with CAD software.
- 3D view(s) need to show a playground element in the best position(s). Color and/or construction materials should be present.
- 2D views need to be done in the framework (just lines), containing main dimensions and a list of the playground element materials.
- The name of the school and the student's name must be on each page of the design.
- Pages need to be submitted in one of the following image formats: JPEG, PNG, or PDF.
- Each Student submission should be less than 20MB, zipped, in size.
After the submission, PH&J Architects and CAD designers will discuss the design and announce winners on PH&J Architects website.
