SeatScape One - Bench Design

The competition is open to high school students from Montgomery and the surrounding areas.
Students are asked to design a bench that could be used in urban commercial landscapes, parks, and recreational areas.
The design should be original, innovative, and appropriate, promoting creativity and safety.
Competition Guidelines:
1. Registration is open from February 9, 2026 through February 27, 2026:
To register for the competition, the student's teacher needs to email the following information to [email protected]
2. The design submission will be accepted from March 9, 2026 through April 3, 2026:
The teacher needs to collect work from students and email each student's submission in a ZIP file (less than 20MB) to [email protected]. Email's subject is "Bench Design".
3. Winners' Announcement during the week of April 20, 2026 through April 24, 2026 on the PH&J Website.
Design Requirements:
Each student must submit a project that includes 3D and 2D views of their design. The project can be created manually (pencil and paper) or using CAD software.
After the submission, PH&J Architects and Architectural Designers will review all entries and select the winners.
Prizes:
1st place = $50 Gift Card
2nd Place = $30 Gift Card
3rd Place = $20 Gift Card

- the name and location of the school,
- the name of the supporting teacher
- the list of participating students

3. Winners' Announcement during the week of April 20, 2026 through April 24, 2026 on the PH&J Website.
Design Requirements:

- 3D View(s): Should showcase the designed bench in its best position(s), including color and/or materials.
- 2D Views: Line drawings must be drawn with main dimensions and include a list of materials used in construction.
- Format: Submissions must be in JPEG, PNG, or PDF format.
- Labeling: Each page must include the student’s name and school name.
After the submission, PH&J Architects and Architectural Designers will review all entries and select the winners.
