The Alabama Center for Excellence in Clean Energy Technology is a renovation of a 13,000 sf former rehab training facility into a state of the art training facility for emerging energy technologies. The new facility will include a 6,000 sf training lab with equipment to train students in mechanical systems including ground source heat pumps and ultra-high efficiency air source heat pumps, solar water heating, rainwater harvesting, solar photovoltaic production of electricity, and construction of energy efficient building envelopes. The facility includes two standard classrooms, a 24 seat computer lab, offices for faculty and staff, break areas and restrooms.
